Why "Sending Forth Isaac and Rebekah"?
"Then they will know with clarity what they have to do."

As I have pondered how I can provide resources to my family to learn and teach the Doctrine of the Family contained in The Family: A Proclamation to the World , it seemed to me that a blog could be an effective avenue. A talk by Sister Julie B. Beck, entitled Teaching the Doctrine of the Family (Ensign, March 2011), in which she describes Isaac and Rebekah as "a man and a woman who understood their place in the plan and their responsibilities to form an eternal family, to bear children, and to teach them," gave me the perfect title:
"In our day we have the responsibility to send “Isaac” and “Rebekah” forth from our homes and classrooms. Every young man and young woman should understand his or her role in this great partnership—that they are each an “Isaac” or a “Rebekah.” Then they will know with clarity what they have to do."That's my goal. To empower the parents that I love to equip their children, whom I also love, with what they need to go forth armed with the power of covenants and truth.
